Summer Polish Picks

There's pretty much only one beauty related topic that I've never discussed here, and that's nail polish! Hence why, today, I'm going to give you a fairly short one on my Summer polish picks!

During the Summer months, as my outfits change to adapt to the new found sunshine, so does my nail polish - I'm a strong believer in seasonal colours, and my summer ones are completely different to those I sport during that frosty period we call "Winter" (not going to lie, I love the cold).

Want to know exactly which shades you NEED to make your fingers and toes pop this Summer? Keep reading to find out!

THAT CREAMY, COOL-TONED BROWN
For me, summer isn't summer without this stunning brown from Active Cosmetics. Despite being lighter than my skintone, it doesn't wash me out and looks gorgeous in natural light.

THAT VAMPY BLACKCURRANT PURPLE

As you guys know, I'm a stickler for a dark, gothic lipstick, as they make the lips stand out that little bit more. Similarly, I happen to share that fetish when it comes to varnishes too and this one by Maybelline certainly delivers, giving you a beautiful pop of colour!

THAT WATERMELON RED

Red is my all time favourite colour due to its real symbolism and boldness - whenever you wear red, you scream "confident". So I decided to see if that confidence was transferrable from outfit to polish and, let's just say that the results were fairly positive. My nails look amazing with this vivid lacquer from Nailmatic, and so will yours.

THAT RICH WINE BURGUNDY

I definitely feel like the colour burgundy has become much more popular of late and, in my opinion, it's totally worth the hype as it's a very pretty tone. French Connection (one of my preferred brands in general) do a great quality burgundy polish - it's extremely opaque and goes with everything.

THAT BABY PINK

You didn't think I'd finish this post without some sort of pink, did you? If you did, you're crazy - pink is such a versatile hue and can be worn throughout the year! For summer though, I do admit, I definitely prefer a lighter shade so this baby pink by Active Cosmetics (Back at it again!) does the job. It literally looks like candyfloss on your nails and who in their right mind could resist that?

Now, being a nail varnish junkie has its perks (I have a lot of choice in which colour I'd like to wear each day) however, it also has some repercussions, one of those being storage. Yes, I'm sure you all know the struggle!

Well, it used to be a struggle before I was kindly sent this "Black Croc" nail polish roll for review from the lovely Roo Beauty who specialise in quality storage solutions! I've been so obsessed with this lately because, not only is it visibly stunning (I've always adored the crocodile scale design) but it also hold 12 nail polishes, making it so useful and convenient for everyday storage and/or travelling. This nail polish roll is fabulous and FOR SURE coming everywhere with me from now on!

Thank you so much for reading my first nail polish oriented post (so glad to have finally done one!) and I really hope you enjoyed reading it and discovering all of the beautiful possibilities for adorning your nails for the next 2-3 months!

What was your favourite shade featured within today's post? How do you store your nail polishes?

Let me know in the comments section below along with any other feedback/questions you may have for me - I'm totally open to hearing what you guys think! Also, be sure to follow this blog on your way out for regular updates on when I'll be posting more juicy content just like this!

Until next time,

  9. I also change my nail polish colours to match the season. I choose pastels and neons this time of year. My favourite one here is the watermelon red.
I've got almost 1000 nail polishes (old nail blogger days!) so mine are in Helmer drawers from Ikea.
