Mask Graveyard - Testing out Iroha Nature Face Masks!

Before I start, I'd just like to give a shout out to those bloggers that can consistently produce 'Empties' posts - this was my first experience photographing products that are completely finished and, I must say, it's incredibly difficult to position them in a way in which they don't look like they've just emerged from a bin.

But, anyway, the real focus of today's post is to explore these face masks, which were kindly provided to me by Iroha Nature (a brand I'd never heard of prior to their communications with me) for testing. I received quite an array of products to review from two different ranges, so I'm here to give you the downlow on these and which ones are worth the purchase.

The DETOX range (with charcoal):
Charcoal is so useful for drawing bacteria, dirt and impurities to the very surface of the skin, fighting those pesky blemishes and improving the complexion.

The claim(s) for this range:
  • Detoxifying power in just 15 minutes
  • Helps remove blackheads and impurities
Now, we've all seen those 'black mask' disaster stories circulating around the online community, hence why I wasn't as eager to try out this one as the others. However, I did actually enjoy my experience with it - the results were clear, given my smoother nose and chin area, and it wasn't anywhere near as painful to remove as I'd imagined. I will say though, the smell is slightly off putting and glue-like, so just be aware of that before you consider purchasing.
Overall Score: 4/5

Black Tissue Mask*:(£4.99)
I love a good sheet mask - they're so practical and a lot of the ones I've used so far have really been remarkable. However, with this one, I didn't notice too much of a difference in my skin's texture, nor in my blemishes - I was quite disappointed, to say the least, as, for the price, it should have made a lot more of a difference than it did. On the other hand, the fit of the mask wasn't bad at all (considering the fact that I have a really weird nose shape, I'm fairly impressed), so if that's a dealbreaker for you then, don't worry, you're covered.
Overall Score: 2/5

Nose Detox Strips*:(£5.99)
I didn't quite understand the function of these to be honest, as they do pretty much the same job as the peeling mask, except you recieve 5 strips for just £5.99, which is very reasonable. They apply very easily with warm water and, again, removed any excesss blackheads and/or accumulated by the nose. It did leave a little bit of debris behind, which was an absolute pain to remove, even after another cleansing of the face.
Overall Score: 3/5

The BRIGHTENING range (with lemon):
Lemon, overtime, can help fight acne and, being absolutely rich in Vitamin C, will help to fade dark spots and brighten a dull complexion.

The claim(s) for this range:
  • Powerful antioxidant treatment
  • Brighter and healthier look
Although the price is slightly high, I can't deny the fact that I was quite keen on this mask. My skin LOVES brightening products, and this one really did work, giving me not only a healthy glow, but also a less patchy face. I noticed these changes IMMEDIATELY after use - if you ever wanted to fast track your way to beautiful skin, this would be the answer to all of your problems.
Overall Score: 4/5

Hydrogel Patches (Anti-Fatigue)*:(£6.99)
Being someone with a naturally light undereye area, I wasn't convinced that these hydrogel patches could do anything for me at all. However, I was wrong, as these quickly became my favourites out of all of the products I had the pleasure of testing. After implimenting them into my routine, I was so pleased with the results - my eyes looked a lot bigger, as they were less puffy and red. This, if stored in the fridge, can also offer that extra soothing and hydrating burst that everyone looks for, especially in the morning, so I highly recommend these patches.
Overall Score: 5/5

Conclusion:
I have really been enjoying playing with these over the last while and have mixed emotions on a lot of the products. Despite this, the one thing I can definitely be sure of is that the 'Lemon Range' is wonderful and has done remarkable things for my skin, and could do the same for yours. So, for anybody that needs to brighten a dull complexion or just appear more 'alive' (even when you're feeling dead), I recommend that you do check these products out.

    1. Thanks very much for reading hun! x I've seen those around a lot, women and men in so much pain due to the strong grip of these masks. But it wasn't like that for me, however, I recommend only applying it to the nose, forehead and chin. Avoid the under eye, whatever you do - it is very sensitive! x

  4. I have been wanting to try an Anti-Fatigue mask but I've been a little skeptical about their claims! Now I will have to pick one up! That charcoal thing you (and other commenters) talked about, I had no idea they could be so awful! I am now warned, so thank you!

    1. Anti Fatigue masks are my lifeline - I love the effects that they have, especially in the morning, just to wake those tired eyes up! x And yes, there are a lot of black charcoal peel off masks out there from cheap brands such as 'Shills' that will only rip off layers of your skin and cause you pain. So if you eventually do wish to purchase a black mask, best off going with this one! x

  12. Great blog post, the brightening face masks sound really interesting, but I'm not a fan of sheet masks! I feel like they're just going to slip off my face and they don't seem to ever fit properly! :(

  17. A few of the Iroha Nature face masks, I'll definitely considering trying. One thing I would say is the size of the actually facial product is slightly concerning. The retail price is £6.99 yet the packaging is so minimal. Anyways, thanks for sharing!
