Want to get your glow on? Here's how!

Over the past few years, we've all seen so many makeup trends enter and leave the game, but one that's never going to budge is highlighting and strobing; we just can't live without that glow. But do you want to know what products can help you blind like a goddess? Just keep on reading!

For my powder highlighter gals:
Makeup revolution Ultra Blush Palette - Golden Sugar

This palette, despite its primary function being a blush palette, contains some of the most gorgeous powder highlighters that I have ever come across!

These highlighters are incredibly pigmented and have a really smooth, fine milled texture (there's no chunky glitter, don't worry!) and, better yet, cost virtually nothing; this palette retails for £6.72!

Overall, for the beautiful range of powder highlighters included within this palette, I definitely recommend picking this gem up, grabbing a fan brush and getting your glow on.

For my cream highlighter gals:
Sleek 'Precious Metals' highlighting palette

So, the hype created around the Solstice highlighting palette by Sleek Makeup last year was HUGE. However, my opinion was that their Precious Metals highlighting palette seemed, to me, to be far more versatile including three different and REALISTIC shades; this one is certainly a lot more chocolate girl friendly!

After picking this palette up, I can conclude that the cream highlighters are stunning for someone who prefers a dewy, rather natural glimmer on top of their makeup. (Don't get me wrong; if you layer this baby, you can really BLIND.)

The texture is how it should be (creamy, of course!) and is best applied with a damp beauty blender. The small brush that comes with this palette is, quite frankly, useless (the quality of the bristles isn't great, it's small and fiddly and it's not even the type of brush you'd want to highlight with) and the powder highlighter is quite lackluster and chunky.

But for the three pans of cream highlighter, £10 is a great price; don't miss out!

For my liquid highlighter gals:
Nars 'Super Orgasm' liquid highlighter

You thought I could forget about you girls, didn't you? Well, not to worry: Marina's got an option for you! That being said, it's a rather pricey option but definitely worth every penny for the high level of quality presented in this product.

This liquid highlighter in the shade 'Super Orgasm' (And immediately, given the shade name, you can tell that this product is made by none other than Nars) retails for $30, which can be considered to be quite a hefty sum. But I don't buy things on a whim; the decision to spend that much money on 1.1oz of liquid highlighter was heavily debated among the makeup loving and bashing spirits of my mind. In the end, I gave in and forked out the cash, which turned out to be a favourable decision; I use this product almost everyday within my makeup routine!

Occasionally, in addition to bouncing it onto the skin for a gorgeous peachy glow, I incorporate the smallest drop of product into my foundation to maximize the dewy appearance of my makeup. Trust me, this highlighter really packs a punch, so in terms of application, just remember: a little goes a LONG way (and you don't want to waste any of this considering it's as expensive as gold dust)

Honestly, the level of strobe is so versatile with this highlighter and with the several shades available, I guarantee you'll find the perfect liquid highlighter for you and fall in love with it.

From left to right: Copacabana, Orgasm, Super Orgasm, Laguna

And this, guys, marks the end of my highlighting tutorial feature (fancy names always sound better) which I hope helped you find the perfect highlighter for you, whether that be powder, cream or liquid.

What are your favourite highlighters at the moment? Let me know in the comments section, as I'd love to try some new ones!  (unabashed highlighter addict)

And don't forget to follow before you leave for more quality posts just like this one! Now go away and strobe like the goddess you know you are!
Until next time,
Marina Rosie x

P.S - Sorry for the late post, I was on holiday in Greece, visiting all of the amazing sites it has to offer (post coming up on that soon!)

Therefore, belated Valentine's day wishes, from myself to you guys!

    1. Heya Lau! Completely in agreement: the Sleek palette is gorgeous and so worth it for the price, despite that one disappointing powder shade. I'm glad I could persuade you to buy something! xx Thanks so much for reading!
